Husband & Wife Real Estate Teams Have Many Advantages!
Teamwork WORKS!
The biggest challenge for any busy real estate professional is needing to be in two places
at once. A husband/wife team can do just that.
'When a Buyer wants to see a property, he or she wants to see it immediately. If you are
not able to show it within a short period of time, the Buyer will move on to the next
home.' said Dennis Miller, who joined his wife's busy real estate practice when it
became apparent that she needed his help.
With two people bringing a variety of talents, backgrounds and perspectives, these pooled
resources can provide both Buyers and Sellers with more and better services. For
instance, if one spouse has a trade or construction background, this can prove very useful in the presentation of the features of the home. In addition, when the property is
inspected, that spouse can provide better guidance to the parties. By the same token, a
spouse with administrative talents can make sure that all details of a transaction are
attended to, and stay in touch with clients, lenders, closing agents, attorneys, etc. This
helps to move the closing along in a smooth manner.
'As a team, we bounce ideas off each other, balance each other out and collaborate on
advertising,' said Theresa Miller. 'There is a wonderful synergy,' she said.
Dennis is from Maryland and Theresa is a native Floridian. While most of their business
is in Pelican Bay, they also sell properties north to Pelican Sound in Estero. They feel that
they are successful because they provide people with enough information to allow them
to make the best informed decision.
When Chuck and Carol Norrell moved to Naples to retire, they spent a year playing golf
and then decided they needed something more fulfilling. Chuck had 31 years of sales
experience with Colgate Palmolive and Carol's background is in Fine Arts. Wanting to
work together, they chose the real estate profession.
'A Realtor, in order to succeed, must be multi talented and willing to work hard. That is
where the husband/wife team have the advantage, particularly if their talents are in
different areas of business,' said Chuck Norrell. 'One example of that teamwork is when
one of us is showing property, the other can be available to retrieve needed information
from the MLS or can be making short notice appointments.' he said.
'With a husband/wife team, we both know what needs to be done and who is responsible
without having to ask someone to perform a task,' said Carrol Norrell. The Norrells say
that they 'get by giving' and that their success is the result of making the goals of their
clients and customers top priority.
The Miller Team and the Norrell Team are affiliated with Naples Realty Services, Inc.,
with offices in Naples (262-4333) and Bonita Springs (498-3333).
